Many people in different parts of the world are still backward.  Many people lack access to clean air, clean water, good food, adequate clothing, shelter, education, security, and peace.  Human rights and justice are often denied.  Unjust inequalities exist between human beings in many parts of the world.

Many societies have an economic system that makes some people rich and many poor.
